The cream of British blues artists get together to provide an intimate musical evening to say thank you to the Army, Navy and Air Force personnel who have been injured in the course of Service.

Help for Heroes strives towards 100% effectiveness so that for every £1 donated, £1 goes directly to helping wounded Servicemen and women.

GIGS: Jason Becker ‘Not Dead Yet’ Festival Amsterdam Nov 2011 – Guthrie Govan, Mattias Eklundh

On behalf of the truly inspiring Jason Becker and ALS Therapy Development Institute some of the World’s greatest players will be getting together this november in Holland to play at the Jason Becker ‘Not Dead Yet’ Festival:

The festival will be held in Amsterdam (awesome city) on Sunday November 13th at a soon to named venue.

Guthrie Govan and Mattias Eklundh have already been confirmed along with other great players soon to be announced!

This is shaping up to be an amazing event for an amazing person.

GIGS: Joe Bonamassa announces October 2011 UK ‘Dust Bowl’ Tour!

The tireless Joe Bonamassa returns to the UK this October!

Award-winning blues rock star, guitar hero and singer-songwriter Joe Bonamassa and his ace touring band will undertake a UK tour in October 2011 to promote his 9th studio album Dust Bowl. The album will be released in the UK by Provogue Records on Monday 21st March 2011.

Tickets for Bonamassa’s “Dust Bowl” UK tour will go on sale to the general public at 9am on Wednesday March 2nd from 0871 230 1101, www.seetickets.com and www.thegigcartel.com. Sacred Mother Tongue, the up and coming Metal band with the astounding Andy James on guitar, have just announced a series of dates for a UK tour!

If you haven’t checked it out already I highly recommend getting their debut album ‘The Ruin Of Man‘.

GIG: Guthrie Govan clinic at Peach Guitars December 5th

Just spotted this on the Suhr forum:

On the 5th of December Peach Guitars and Suhr Guitars present world reknowned guitarist Guthrie Govan at ‘the Venue’ Braintree.

There’s 2 types of ticket for this event, we have limited numbers for a masterclass which will feature a small group of individuals where Guthrie will be giving you tips and tricks on improving your guitar technique, i’ve seen Guthrie do this before and the knowledge that he gives you is invaluable.

After the clinic Guthrie will be performing some of his classic tracks from the album ‘Erotic Cakes’.

We will also have Ed Yoon on hand all the way from California to talk all things Suhr related.

Type 1 Ticket is for the masterclass and gig (£30)

Type 2 is gig only. (£10)

We’ll have an incredible selection of Suhr guitars on display and unrepeatable deals offered on the day.

Masterclass is 14.30 till 16.00

Gig is 16.30 till 18.30

NEWS: Monkey Lord Launch Party at Marshall Amplification

Some great news from Rob Chapman and his band Monkey Lord:

On October 30th, epic will be occurring at the Marshall Amplification HQ in Milton Keynes, UK. Monkey Lord will be hosting a launch party and gig. This launch party will mark Monkey Lord’s first public appearance, and some fantastic news will be announced – involving Monkey Lord and a big name in the music industry. More information will be provided about this on Friday 24th September, when the embargo is lifted.

Monkey Lord will be joined by guests, such as the Chapman Guitars development artists, in the Marshall live room, where much shred will be taking place. We also hope that representatives from leading guitar and rock music magazines will be attending (more about that on the website).

Tickets are being sold on the Monkey Lord Launch Party website (http://www.monkeylord.co.uk/launchparty) for £20, for people aged 17+. Three free (alcoholic) drinks will be included with the purchase of a ticket, due to regulations preventing Marshall Amplification from being able to sell alcoholic beverages on their premises.

GIGS: Richie Kotzen announces new UK Tour dates

Great to see that Richie Kotzen will be back after the unfortunate cancellation of the UK dates few weeks ago:

Richie Kotzen has rescheduled the recently cancelled UK dates as part of the upcoming fall European leg of the 2010 Peace Sign World Tour! While details of the rest of the tour are forthcoming, the UK dates have been announced and are all currently on sale.

There will be four UK dates from Nov 7 – Nov 10th. Richie will be playing 02 Academy venues in Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool and Islington. Richie released the following statement to his fans in a recent blog:


To all my Friends and Fans in the UK, Again, I apologize for any inconveniences caused by the recent UK cancellations. I can only assure you that they were completely out of our control and we have been working very hard at rescheduling those dates and getting back to play for you as quickly as possible.
