I’m Mark McGuigan, Guitarist and Music Teacher based in Edinburgh, Scotland and this is my personal website.

Guitarist?

I’ve been playing guitar now for…well many many years. Since 1989 in fact. It’s fair to say I’m pretty obsessed with the thing .

Here you can check out my music, videos and guitars and amps that I own.

Over the years I’ve played gigs in the Edinburgh Festival, shows for the Edinburgh Footlights, Musicals as well as being part of Edinburgh’s New Year Celebrations playing Ceilidh In The Gardens and other guitar related festivals.

Thankfully I get regular dep work with the fantastic Rock/Funk Ceilidh band Teannaich which gets me out playing live, but, I am currently looking for more gigs, any power funk trios looking for a Guitarist?

In 2006 I quit my Embedded Systems Engineering job of 8 years and started my own business teaching Guitar and Bass full time under the name mastertheguitar.co.uk.

I also record regular video lessons for the mastertheguitar youtube channel called MasterThatRiff and MasterThatMelody, looking at some of the coolest riffs and melodies of all time.
