The Musician’s Notebook: Guitar
April 13, 2009 · Print This Article ·
I first came across the guitar edition of The Musician’s Notebook just before Christmas. The second I saw it I knew I had to have one.
I use notebooks alot, jotting down lick ideas in my ‘licktionary’, noting down exercises for practice as well as any song ideas that spring to mind. For a while I used Guitar Pro, but there’s nothing quite like and actual book for ease of use and convenience.
Each notebook is small enough to carry around, measuring 22.6 x 16.5 x 1.5 cm, and contains 128 pages of nicely sized and spaced Musical Stave and Tablature lines as well as chord/scale diagram boxes. Each pair of pages features a quote from a notable guitarists/composers which adds a nice inspirational touch.
As the official blurb says:
No one knows better than Matthew Teacher how to create a successful journal just for musicians: his first, the Musician’s Notebook, sold more than 200,000 copies. Now he’s developed a notebook specifically for the guitar player. With inspirational quotes and words of advice from leading players, it’s elegantly designed with rounded corners, and priced attractivel for the gift-giving shopper. Musicians will appreciate the user- friendly, lay-flat, flexi-bind format that’s eays to write in and to use while performing.
If you are looking for a nicely packaged guitar centric notebook for musical ideas etc. I recommend you check them out.
