‘Riff Of The Week’ rebranding

Looks like the title ‘Riff’ Of The Week’ is causing problems.
Now I’m still not sure about the legality/copyright issues of using such a potentially common phrase but I shall be renaming my “Riff Of The Week” to “Master That Riff!”.
There will be a short delay before the next riff as I redesign the mastertheguitar.co.uk site and rename all the videos.

I’m so disappointed in Dave Weiner.
Being a fan of his solo work and having seen him live with Steve Vai twice I counted myself as a Dave Weiner fan until I read about this, but this just seems to petty.
I mean, if it was just the people on his forum kicking off then that would be pretty much par for the course. We all know what forumites are like in large numbers - there are always a few brain donors pissing in the pool. But for Dave himself to join in and agree that you should rename RotW is disappointing. Is he trying to claim copyright on that phrase? Do we need to go through all previous guitar magazines and publications so he can send them cease and desist letters because he (and no-one else!) owns the phrase “Riff of the Week” or the acronym RotW?
Or does he actually believe the forum-spouted brainwrong that you’re “ripping off” his Riff of the Week idea? Copying him?
For shame. I’m sorry to see it come to this, Mark. But equally I appreciate that it’s probably less hassle to rebrand than it is to get into a long wrangle. Ultimately it’s just a phrase - if he wants it so much, let him have it.
Clive.
Yeah twas my thinking too.
Master That Riff! it shall be.
And now his forums seem to be beroken. Did you do that? I’m impressed. (:-))
Heh yeah saw that.
Wisnae me!
