New Satch CD!

This morning I was very pleased to find the new CD from Joe Satriani in my letterbox, delivered to me by those nice people at Amazon. Wasting no time at all I popped on my headphones and listened… |
Initial impressions? I like this new album very much
, usual melodic and groovy compositions on show from the bald one. Stand out tracks for me have to be ‘Hands In The Air‘ for its low tuned ( probably 7 string ) riff, which rocks along nicely, ‘Lifestyle‘ for its multi-tracked vocals, the title track ‘Is There Love In Space‘ for its gorgeous harmony guitar melodies, the wah-tastic ‘The Souls Of Distortion‘ and probably my favourite track ‘Searching‘, more low tuned/whammy pedal fun.
Tone wise Satch’s sound on this album is very similar to that of his last outing ‘Strange beautiful Music‘ though I believe some tracks were done using the prototype of Satch’s new signature amp the Peavey JSX.
Reading other Satch ‘fans’ reviews around the net it appears some love it others say it’s his ‘least creative’ album citing lack of ‘experimentation’. Hmmm call me old fashioned but I don’t really give a f**k if something’s complex/out there/technically stunning, I either like a piece of music or I don’t and folks I like this, thankyou Mr Satriani.
Still here!

Not many updates for a while I know, been busy with with work and Stag Weekends ( thankfully not my own
).
Till I think of something interesting to say here’s a link to some online lessons from the reputable Berklee College of Music in the US. ![]()
